The 1913 Armory Show, held in the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue between 25th and 26th streets, was a landmark event in the history of art and the history of New York City.  Formally known as the “International Exhibition of Modern Art,” it set the art world on its head and the press scrambling to report on the “scandalous” display of Cubist and Fauve works.
