Rights and Reproductions

Did you see a painting you like on a recent visit but couldn't find a copy of it in the store?

Rights & Reproductions can provide a reproduction for you.

The Rights & Reproductions Department can provide photographic or digital reproductions of most items in the New-York Historical Society's collections. In most instances, the permission to display, reproduce, or otherwise use such reproductions can also be obtained. For more information, please see our guidelines or contact us at rightsandrepro@nyhistory.org.

The holdings of the Library's Department of Prints, Photographs and Architectural Collections, for example, number approximately 3 million items. (For Library hours, click here.) If you would like to make an appointment to view items in the Department of Prints, Photographs and Architectural Collections, please e-mail printroom@nyhistory.org.

Please include information on your particular area of interest.
