Families will be amazed to see an entire circus emerge from one suitcase! A tent, band, lights, and a boisterous ringmaster and magician will all be joined by the most important performers – the audience! Kids will be engaged and physically involved in the performance in this unique circus program.

Macy's Sunday Story Time: Barnum and the Brooklyn Bridge

When the Brooklyn Bridge was completed, everyone wondered how much weight it could hold. The famous P.T. Barnum, founder of the circus that became the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey, decided to take this as a challenge. Join us to hear what it was like to see elephants marching through the city and across the Brooklyn Bridge!

The subject, famous as Coco the Clown, was born in Calcutta, India, and began his circus career at the age of three. From the late 1870s until the early 1920s, when he retired, he was one of the most popular and famous performers under the Big Top. His home was in Jacksonville, Florida, and he became known as "the health and education clown" in the Florida public schools.
