Special Family Event
At the Kids’ Table with Sarah Lohman: Cornelia Van Varick's Holiday Kitchen
Sat, December 7th, 2013 | 2:00 pm
$16
(members $10)

Saturdays, November 2, December 7, January 11, March 1, and April 26; 2 pm

Dutch families in New Amsterdam were known for their delicious holiday confections. For this month's program, participants will become Cornelia van Varick in her seventeenth-century kitchen as she prepares traditional food for the New Year. We'll handle objects and ingredients that Cornelia would have had, such as sugar cones and nippers, Dutch ovens, and mortar and pestles. Then we'll use them to make two Dutch holiday treats, orange caraway cookies and fried doughnuts, that participants can taste and take home.

Ages 8 and up, $16 per child ($10 per Member child). Accompanying adults pay Museum admission only: To purchase tickets to this program, please click here.
