Each class will include time with historic toys, a special Little New-Yorkers hello song, story readings, and a related craft project.
Little New-Yorkers in December
December 3 and 6: Runaway Dreidel by Lesléa Newman. This week we’re exploring Hanukkah, travelling across different lands with a magical dreidel. Children will then make their own Hanukkah themed decorations.
December 10 and 13: Rush Hour by Christine Loomis. This week we’re exploring the different ways that people travel around the city. From historical modes of transport, to modern day wonders. Children will then make a 3D coach.
December 17 and 20: The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore. This week we’re exploring the Christmas holiday tradition with this classic rhyming story. Children will then make their own tree ornaments.
December 27 and January 3: P. Bear’s New Year’s Party by Paul Owen Lewis. Happy New Year Everyone! We’re celebrating New Year’s with the P. Bear and his crazy guest list. Children will then make their own 2014 New Year’s glasses.
