Civil Rights Scavenger Hunt
Daily, All day

Have you ever seen a letter handwritten by Abraham Lincoln, a 200-year-old cross-stitch sampler, or historic ballot box? Come search for these remarkable objects (and others), and discover how they help tell the story of American civil rights history on a special museum-wide scavenger hunt!

Celebrate Audubon’s Aviary: The Final Flight with Paper Bird Planes!
Daily, 1–3 pm

Fold your own paper bird plane and fly it at our target wall of clouds. Which bird plane will you choose? A hummingbird, falcon, or spoonbill? While you’re here, don’t forget to check out Audubon’s Aviary: The Final Flight (Part III of The Complete Flock) to discover other fascinating birds that call North America home.

Ancient Chinese Arts Today: Paper Making
April 12
Session 1, from 11 am – 1 pm, for children ages 5–10
Session 2, from 2 – 4 pm, for children ages 10 – 14
$20 per person ($15 per Member)

Families will explore, experiment, and discover the possibilities of creating their own unique paper with award-winning papermaker Mary Sullivan. Paper, in its many forms, is the material most commonly used to document who we are, as shown in the exhibition Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion. Making paper is an age-old process and materials that hold special meaning can be embedded in the paper and added to its surface, creating wonderful stories of personal interest. Kids and their parents can bring in stamps, dried flowers, string, paper clippings, letters, or other small items to add to paper as it is made to personalize their work. Click here to buy tickets today!
