In honor of our exhibition World War I Beyond the Trenches, we’re commemorating the 100th anniversary of America’s official entry into the First World War by bringing New York in 1917 to life! Every Saturday and on select Sundays this summer, stop by the Museum to meet different personalities from the home- and warfronts of the United States a century ago. Each week is different—you might discover the uniforms of army doughboys or run into a famous leader!
On select Saturdays and Sundays, stand alongside the women who won the vote in New York three years before the 19th Amendment! Meet suffragists portrayed by Living Historians and learn how they each fought for women’s rights. Ask about their early 20th-century wardrobe, learn how they marched for the vote, and make a suffrage cockade!
Check out our Family Calendar to discover each Centennial Saturday’s or Sunday’s special theme!
