In honor of our new exhibition World War I Beyond the Trenches, we’re commemorating the 100th anniversary of America’s official entry into the First World War by bringing to life New York in 1917 ! Each Saturday (except Independence Day Weekend), stop by the Museum to meet different personalities from the home- and war-fronts of the United States a century ago. Each week is different—you might discover the uniforms of army doughboys, run into a famous leader, or march with suffragists!
On June 10, prepare to be electrified by the WWI-era technology of one of New York’s most famous inventors! Portrayed by Patrick Garner of History’s Alive!, Thomas Edison will tell you all about his strategies for naval research and defense as well as his contributions to film. Don’t leave without listening to music played from one of Edison’s early phonographs!
Check out our Family Calendar to discover each Centennial Saturday’s special theme!
