Stop by the New-York Historical Society for a December School Vacation Week that’s all about trains! Go on a special “I Spy” scavenger hunt through Holiday Express: Toys and Trains from the Jerni Collection, settle in to listen to a classic train story, and make a train-themed craft to take home! 

Holiday Express “I Spy” Scavenger Hunt
All Day
Recommended for ages 4 and up
I spy with my little eye a dog, a ship, and even a flying machine! Pick up an “I Spy” scavenger hunt to get the whole family started on an adventure through the special Holiday Express exhibition. Kids and adults alike will delight in discovering unexpected surprises tucked away amongst the toys and trains!

Train Tales and Crafts
Daily, 2 pm
All Ages

Hear a classic train storybook read aloud and stay for a related craft activity. Train books for the week include The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper; Steam Train, Dream Train written by Sherri Duskey Rinker and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld; and Shark vs. Train written by Chris Barton and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld.
