Living History: Evacuation Day
Saturday, November 25th, 2017 | 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Recommended for all ages
Free with Museum Admission

On Saturday, November 25, join us in celebrating Evacuation Day! On this day in 1783, New York City fell out of Britain’s control and back into American hands. Portrayed by Living Historian Michael Grillo, George Washington will be here to map out the British Army’s departure route from the city. Explore the bundle of possessions carried by British loyalists who left the city for Canada or England, and listen to our first president read his own proclamations about this holiday in the past!
