Recommended for all ages

Spend your Memorial Day at the New-York Historical Society saluting those who fought in the American Revolution! Living historians from the Second Continental Light Dragoons, an organization that re-establishes a cavalry troop from almost 250 years ago, will be stationed at the Museum to answer your questions about fighting on horseback. Take a close look at the special helmets and other equipment they used or learn a saber drill!

Visit us over Memorial Day Weekend to learn more about life on and off the battlefield in the American Revolution. Ask members of the 3rd New Jersey Regiment, historical reenactors portraying soldiers on foot as well as civilians, to teach you how to drill with a musket!
