Living History: New York’s Tea Party
Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 | 11:00 am

Free with Museum Admission
Recommended for all ages

Every weekend through January 8, meet fascinating living historians and reenactors who bring the American Revolution to life inside the Museum, presented in conjunction with our groundbreaking exhibition, The Battle of Brooklyn.

This December marks the 243rd anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, but did you know that New-York had its own Revolutionary tea party? On Saturday, December 3, sit down to learn the etiquette of having tea with 18th-century New-Yorkers, portrayed by reenactors from the Ministers of Apollo. Discuss the city’s rally against tea in Revolution-era New-York at a period tea table and set of chairs, listen to a colonial flutist, and even read fortunes with tarot cards!

Once you’ve socialized, don’t forget to pick up our Battle of Brooklyn Family Activity Guide and explore the exhibition to learn more about New-York’s rebellious tea party.
