Wham! Pow! Zap! Superheroes, American heroes and their fans are all gathering at the New-York Historical Society for the special exhibition Superheroes in Gotham. Don’t miss out on all the amazing feats of fun this week as we mix, match, and mash up our favorite larger than life idols. Families will travel through America’s past with programming that keeps everyone engaged. Scavenger hunts in the galleries for centuries-old objects and hands-on activities to create and bring home reminders of a great day together. 

Presidents are Superheroes Too! Scavenger Hunt
All Day
Ages 6 and up

Do you know what Presidents’ ties and superhero costumes have in common? What was the real-life inspiration behind Batman’s red phone? Hunt through the special exhibition Superheroes in Gotham to see amazing superhero objects and learn some fun presidential facts!

Superhero Crafts
Daily from 1:30 – 3:30 pm
All Ages

Don’t forget to stop by our craft station this week to make a superhero memento to take home! Projects include folding and flying superhero planes and decorating your very own superhero wrist cuffs.

The Trial of Typhoid Mary
Saturday, February 14, 2-4 pm
$45 ($40 Member)
Ages 8 and up

Join us for Live In Theater’s latest interactive family-friendly show premiering over President’s Day weekend at the New-York Historical Society and participate in the trial Typhoid Mary never received! The year is 1915 and there’s a silent killer in our midst. One mystery woman is spreading deadly typhoid fever everywhere she goes and it’s up to YOU to stop her.

Traveling throughout the Museum’s galleries, audience members will work together to unravel the story of this real-life historical figure, delve into the motives behind her actions, and maybe even re-write a bit of history. Was Typhoid Mary a villain or a victim? You decide!

Presidents’ Day Family Trivia Spectacular
Monday, February 15 at 2:00 pm
$25 per person ($20 per Member)
Recommended for ages 6 and up

The Big Quiz Thing’s Presidents’ Day Family Trivia Spectacular presents the ultimate all-ages test of U.S. history! The Big Quiz Thing—New York City’s premier live trivia event—brings its tremendous multimedia team quiz show back to the New-York Historical Society, with a focus on past, present, and future U.S. presidents. Kids ages 6 and up and their parents will thrill to unique “figureoutable” trivia questions and video and audio puzzles (everyone gets to play), culminating in the stupendous Buzzertastic Finale. Plus, there will be fantastic prizes from the New-York Historical Society. Hosted by Quizmaster Andy Peeke. It all happens Monday, February 15—Presidents’ Day—at the New-York Historical Society!
