Scouts of all ages are invited fulfill requirements for a variety of badges and earn a Museum Patch! Come as a troop or as a family and explore the technology of yesterday, today, and tomorrow with our current exhibition, Silicon City: Computer History Made in New York. Take an educator-led tour of the show, engage in a drop-in introductory computer coding workshop, experiment and tinker with circuits, and gain a better understanding of careers available in tech!

Drop-in Introductory Computer Coding Workshop
Building on the games and technologies on display in our groundbreaking exhibition Silicon City, scouts learn how to animate a simple cartoon using a coding program for beginners called “Scratch.”
Art-Making Stations | Little Bits Circuits
Experiment and tinker with circuits! Connect wires, buzzers, lights, and fans and understand the binary functions these basic electric connections.
Living History: Technology from the American Revolution
Join the 3rd New Jersey Regiment’s and learn about technology from the revolutionary era. Enjoy demonstrations of innovative infantry tactics and learn wartime musical commands.
Computer Science for All Presentation | 3 pm - 4 pm
Minerva Tantoco, Chief Technology Officer at the Mayor’s Office of Technology, will speak about the importance of Computer Science Education as not only excellent job preparation, but as a tool for critical and creative thinking. A Q & A will follow the presentation.
Scout uniforms are encouraged!
Scout Day Tickets include Museum admission. Patches are available for purchase at the Museum Store. The cost per patch is $4.
