Special Black History Month Sunday Story Time: Art from Her Heart
Sunday, February 26th, 2017 | 11:30 am

Free with Museum Admission
Ages 3–7

To celebrate Black History Month, this week Sunday Story Time will honor self-taught artist Clementine Hunter. We will read Art from Her Heart by Kathy Whitehead and Shane W. Evans.

Clementine was a plantation maid by day and artist by night. Through her paintings, she recorded daily plantation life.  Though in her lifetime she faced racism and adversity, she is now celebrated as an icon of American art.

Art from Her Heart written by Kathy Whitehead and Shane W. Evans, 2008.

Support for Sunday Story Time provided by Macy's.
