At Sunday Story Time this June, we are celebrating our exhibition World War I Beyond the Trenches. We will be reading stories that honor military service, veterans, and military families.

In Proud as a Peacock, Brave as a Lion, a grandfather answers his grandson’s questions about his life as a soilder as the two prepare for a memorial service. Grandfather explains how he learned to be proud as a peacock, brave as  a lion, and always remember to honor those who served their country.

This week, we will be joined by Curated Care for a Big Apple-inspired ukulele sing-a-long led by professional musician, dancer, and actress Devin N (also a New York native!)

Proud as a Peacock, Brave as a Lion written by Jane Barclay, illustrated by Renne Benoit, 2009.
