In conjunction with our museum-wide Citizenship Project, Sunday Story Time is featuring stories about immigration throughout the month of May. This week we are reading Hiromi’s Hands by Lynne Barasch.

Hiromi’s Hands is the true story of Hiromi Suzuki, one of the world’s first female sushi chefs.  Hiromi narrates this story about her family’s immigration to New York City and her determination to learn her father’s art of sushi making.

Hiromi’s Hands by Lynne Barasch, 2004.
