Description: 
Iron artillery shell fragment.
Gallery Label: 
According to accession records, this shell fragment was cut from a tree trunk at Hampton Bay, Virginia by I.R. McWilliams, and later given to the donor. The shell was probably fired during the landing of Union troops there in 1861.
