Without the glamour of graceful passenger vessels or the powerful appearance of strong-hulled freighters, this view presents the everyday, working vessels -- ferries, tug boats, in the harbor and the burgeoning financial center behind it. In essence, the artist seems to be saying, the harbor and the enormous commerce engendered there are as reliant on these work horses as on the more world traveled ships that visit only intermittently.
