Gift of Walter F. Davis
handwritten in ink on blanket side: "DAVIS/...."
According to accession records, this blanket was used by the donor's father, Private David P. Davis of the 5th New York Volunteer Infantry (Duryea's Zouaves), during the Civil War. The blanket was fastened to the top of Private Davis's knapsack.
