Light green silk Quaker bonnet with ivory silk lining; rigid, cylindrical cap with front edge gathered around a deep, slightly flaring, rigid brim; light green silk ribbon ties; removable ivory tulle liner.

According to the accession records, this was the wedding bonnet of Martha Whitson (1807-1883), great-grandmother of the donors. Martha Whitson married Edmund R. Willets (1800-1875) on October 29, 1829, in the Meeting [House?] at Westbury, Long Island.
