Description: 
Imari ware food bowl with lid painted along exterior in red, blue, gold, and white with flowers, foliage, geometrics, branches, and trailing ribbons in decorative pattern typical of export porcelain. Interior of bowl and lid are also painted with peony flowers.
Gallery Label: 
Imari ware was produced in Kyushu in southern Japan and exported from Imari port during the late seventeenth through to the nineteenth centuries.
