Sheet copper box with zinc lining, used as the cornerstone box of Public Grammer School No.43 of New York City; box soldered closed at one time but has been pried open.

This was the cornerstone box of Public Grammer School No. 43 of New York City. According to the accession record, the box had newspapers inside dated June 19, 1885.
