Description 
Woven hairwork mourning bracelet with gold hardware; consisting of 5 woven hair beads inside open shell of spiralling gold strands, linked together with chain links; gold clasp fastener with safety chain.

This braclet contains the hair of Israel Corse, Jr. (1819-1885), the youngest son of Israel Corse, Sr. and Abigail Cornell Corse. He followed his father in the tanning business, forming the firm Corse and Thompson in 1853 located at 89 Gold Street. He married Catharine Ketchum in 1846. He died at his summer home in Sayville, Long Island in 1885.
