Description: 
Bronze cross-belt plate; rectangular plate with its regiment number engraved in Roman numerals on front; hook and two rivets on back.
Gallery Label: 
This belt plate was found near the Saratoga battlefield in New York, and was worn by a British soldier who took part in the battle. The plate was worn by a private of the 20th Regiment at the intersection of the two cross-belts that ran diagonally across his chest.
