Description 
Gold struck medal, issued to commemorate the definite naming of the city of Buenos Aires, with obverse showing oval medallion with two sailing ships, dove, and anchor, at center, surrounded by laurel wreath; legend: "BUENOS AIRES CAPITAL DE LA REPUBLICA ARGENTINA." Reverse contains central oval medallion depicting hands clasped in handshake with cap of Liberty above, surrounded by laurel wreath, flags, and military attributes, with rising sun above; legend beneath: "VI DE DECIEMBRE DE MDCCCLXXX."
