In early 2017, our fourth floor will be transformed into a new destination for historical education and innovation. During the current renovation, objects from our permanent collection are on view throughout the Museum.
Corcoran Legion Fifth regiment. Col. William McEvily. A few good men are wanted to fill up Capt. Wm. L. Monegan's company. This is a splendid opportunity for young men to join a Crack Regiment.

This bust was created as a preparatory sketch for the life-size statue of Abraham Lincoln installed on the Central Park West steps of the New-York Historical Society in November, 2011. The bronze statue was commissioned by the New-York Historical Society and executed by the Brooklyn firm StudioEIS. A companion statue of Frederick Douglass was created for the 77th Street entrance; together, the two figures bring to life the story of freedom that is deeply embedded in our history and is a primary focus of the Historical Society's programs.
