Description 
Pair of dark brown leather slipper-style, square-toed children's shoes; the upper is made in 2 pieces joined with stitching at the arch area, the openings of the slippers follow the shape of the shoe and are trimmed with brown silk fabric tape, left shoe retains a flower decoration at the toe, of 3 rows of ruffled silk ribbon in pink, white and brown with a metal bead at the center; insole is lined with white (now soiled) cotton twill fabric; leather soles.

These shoes belonged to the donor's mother, Angeline Burr Corse (b. 1847). She was the daughter of Israel (1819-1885) and Catharine Ketchum Corse. Angeline married Cadwalader Evans in 1872.
