Description: 
White striped cotton christening gown with a round neckline trimmed with hand-made cotton needlepoint lace; long sleeves with a folded back cuff trimmed with needlepoint lace; high waist defined by two ties trimmed with needlepoint lace that attach to the front of the dress with a geometric white work band; extremely long skirt with an undecorated hem; two mother-of-pearl buttons on the back below the neckline.

This christening gown was made by the donor's aunt for an expected child. The baby, however, was stillborn, and the mother died in childbirth.
