Loom-woven counterpane with white-on-white "candlewick" design; large eight-pointed star at center surrounded by a series of three rectangular frames decorated with swags with tassels and stylized floral elements.

According to the accession records, this coverlet once belonged to the Schuyler family and was probably used on the Lafayette bed (N-YHS Collection). The number 14 woven at the lower edge refers to its width, in units of 9 inches.
