Description 
Doll with papier mâché shoulder head, simply molded black hair, molded and painted facial features including blue eyes and closed mouth; stuffed cloth body with complete kid arm, separate fingers, and thumb sewn on to hand with separate panel, complete stuffed cloth leg; hair embellished with snood at back of head topped off with large black bow, ethnic costume consisting of long white sleeves, green top covered with heavily embroidered breastplate, plain apron over red and green skirt, over white petticoat, brown leather slippers; straw hat with pink and blue flowers sewn to proper right hand.

This object was once part of the folk art collection of Elie Nadelman (1882-1946), the avant-garde sculptor. From 1924 to 1934, Nadelman's collection was displayed in his Museum of Folk Arts, located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The Historical Society purchased Nadelman's entire collection in 1937.
