Description 
Doll with papier-mâché shoulder head, black molded hair with painted curls along edges, molded and painted facial features including black eyes, closed mouth, and pink tinted cheeks; stuffed cloth body with complete arm and separate fingers, and complete leg; blue flowered short-sleeved dress gathered at waist with banded sleeves over scalloped blue petticoat, cream-colored petticoat with lace hem, and knickers with openwork lower legs; brown silk slippers sewn on to foot.

This object was once part of the folk art collection of Elie Nadelman (1882-1946), the avant-garde sculptor. From 1924 to 1934, Nadelman's collection was displayed in his Museum of Folk Arts, located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The Historical Society purchased Nadelman's entire collection in 1937.
