Description 
Chippendale easy chair, currently without upholstery; raked back with serpentine crest rail and side wings; solid rounded arms, sloped solid supports, and low conical arm supports; square seat; straight front legs and raked rear legs with brass castors; side, rear, and medial stretchers; two inscriptions on back of crest rail.

Gallery Label 
According to the accession records, this chair belonged to Sir William Johnson (1715-1774), though stylistically the chair seems to post-date Johnson's years.
