Steel folding pocket spectacles with hinged nosepiece; oval lenses and double-hinged (Ayscough type) temples with elongated loops at ends.
Most spectacles folded at the juncture of the lenses and temples, although some spectacle makers experimented with alternatives. These spectacles feature a hinged nosepiece which allows them to fold more compactly.
