The records of the city of Boston list a marriage of Harrison Gray, Jr., to Mary Hughes, on October 12, 1769; this probably refers to the parents of the subject, whose grandfather would therefore have been Harrison Gray, the last colonial treasurer of Massachusetts, who left for Halifax in 1776.
