Description:
Seamed silver mug; cylindrical body with molded rings around the base; die-rolled bell flower bands applied around the rim and the foot; cast; s-scroll handle; three repoussé chased cartouches on the center of the body, central scrolled four leaf clover engraved, "J De F W/ from Auntie./ Jan. 28, 1855" in script with two scrolled circle cartouches on either side engraved with flowers; maker's mark on the base.
Gallery Label:
The initials engraved on this mug belong to Jeanette de Forest Windle, who was presented the vessel by her aunt in 1855.
