Seamed silver nutmeg grater; oval body with straight sides; hinged, flat lid with straight sides; flat, inset hinged base; oval grater applied across the top of the interior; lid engraved, "THE GIFT OF" in block letters over, "James Caldwell" in script; no maker's marks.
