Description
Oval dish, possibly a stand for a small tureen, decorated in polychrome enamels with a lake scene; the scene is bound by a rust and gold border of fleur-de-lis; around the brim are eight colorful Chinese figures; gold initials at top.

Hilton Scribner in recognition/ of a brilliant speech made as a member/ of the New York Assembly, which re-/ sulted in the acceptance by the State of New York of a portrait of --/DEWITT CLINTON"
