This is a copy by an unidentified artist of the original view, which was drawn, engraved, and published by Robert Havell, 172 Fulton Street, New York, 1840. A copy of this early state is in the Print Room of the Society. It is also known as the Havell North River View. This watercolor copy lacks some of the shipping seen in the original plate.
