Three gentlemen in formal riding attire on horseback toast their host and hostess and other guests who stand on the steps and under the portico of a columned southern brick house with green shutters; a servant stands to the left with a tray on which is a glass decanter; to his left the host stands with raised glass, a walking stick in his left hand, a hunting hound at his side; the hostess stands behind him, a fan in her hand, two young women on either side of her; an older gentleman and woman stand in front of the door; the house bordered by trees at right, flowering bushes on lawn at center of driveway. Another house at base of hill to right in middleground and a body of water in the distance.
