Description: 
Wrought silver pitcher in the Chrysanthemum pattern; squat, lobed, apple-shaped body with incised lines at the corners; body seated on four squared feet with chrysanthemum flowers applied on the knees; foliate scroll band applied around the base and top of the concave shoulder; tall, cylindrical neck applied over the shoulders with incised lines at the corners; neck flares to a short and wide pouring lip and a low, folded over rim with chased chrysanthemum leaves at the sides; rim raised at the back to meet the cast, c-curve handle with chrysanthemum leaf joints a the top and bottom; engraved on the front of the body in foliate script, "M B M"; makers' marks on the base.

This pitcher, and its accompanying tray, were a wedding gift to Wilmot Townsend Cox of Glen Cove, Long Island and Maria Duane Bleecker of Long Beach, Long Island, who married in 1896.
