Susannah Shannon was the daughter of John and Martha (Reed) Shannon of New York and Trenton, New Jersey. In 1809 she was married to Charles Pindar, Russian consul to the United States stationed in New Orleans. Following their marriage Pindar went into the grocery business in New York.
