Description 
Shallow cast iron posnet with three splayed legs (triangular in section), sprue in center on bottom, brazed stump handle, and cast iron slightly domed lid with central D-shaped handle, triangular in section, and erect rim.

Posnets were small cooking pots with three splayed legs and a long handle for cooking over an open hearth. The design orignated in medieval Europe and remained unchanged through the eighteenth century.
