Wood (probably mahogany) shaving stand with gilt decoration on outside of box, keyhole surround, and space for (disattached) brass plaque on top; detachable mirror on underside of lid kept in place by two gilt leaf-shaped fixtures; top shelf partitioned into compartments covered in purple velvet, central compartment lifts out, as does entire shelf; bottom partitioned into three compartments, covered in foil (probably aluminum); accessories include folding razor with mother-of-pearl sheath, tortoise shell strap, ivory-backed toothbrush in tin container with hinged lid, two colorless square glass bottles with stoppers, and one colorless glass medicine bottle with cork.
