Amidships, slightly forward of the paddle box, is one black funnel while at either end of the large super-structure is a wheelhouse. Both ends of the vessel are so constructed as to permit vehicles to be driven on and off.
The vessel is traveling at full speed, leaving a white foam in its wake. This picture is a representation of one of the first ferryboats of the double end construction to ply in New York waters.
