Description: 
A sample of metal used to make bombers during World War II. A bright silver slab printed with a blue border and a black airplane and the words "Sample of 3/16" Aluminum Alloy Wing Skin on the Boeing B-29 SuperFortress (Thickest Wing Skin on B-29, It Also is Thinnest Skin on B-47 Wing)". The B-29 Super Fortress began full production in September of 1943 at the Wichita Kansas Boeing plant. The bottom is covered with felt.
