Description 
A tray commemorating William Howard Taft's run for the presidency in 1908. Lithographed in color around the rim are stars and stripes shields interspersed with portraits of every Republican Party (G.O.P.) candidate since its inception in 1856 with the date of their candidacy and the words "Grand Old Party/ 1856-1908/ Standard Bearers" : "Fremont 1856"; "Lincoln 1860-1864"; "Grant 1868-1872"; "Hayes 1876"; "Garfield 1880"; "Arthur 1881"; "Blaine 1884"; "Harrison 1888-1892"; "McKinley 1896"; "Roosevelt 1901-1904". In the center surrounded by laural leaves and flags is a drawing of the White House above portraits of Taft and James Sherman, his Vice-President, with the caption "1908/ For President/ William Howard Taft/ For Vice President/ James Schoolcraft Sherman".
