Dark blue wool artillery trousers with 1 1/8" red stripe down the outsides of the legs trimmed with gilt lacing at the outer edges; button fly at the front has 5 buttons up the center, fabric tab at the top which fastensfrom the inside to the waistband at the right, 4 suspender buttons around the waistband; right side watch pocket beneath waistband beside red stripe, vertical slit pockets on both sides at the back edge of stripe; 2 straps on the back beneath waistband which buckle together at the center on rectangular metal buckle with double-tongued chape; pockets lined with white linen, waistband lined with black linen, leg hems lined with white linen; all buttons metal except 2 buttons for boot straps at the ankle inside each leg, made of carved bone.
