Red twill-weave wool felt baggy Zouave trousers; 4 button fly; right side watch pocket on the waistband, vertical slit pockets at the side seams; waistband, pockets and leg hems lined with white cotton.
Gallery Label: 
These trousers are part of a Zouave uniform worn by David P. Davis during the Civil War. He served with the 5th New York Volunteer Infantry, commonly called "Duryee's Zouaves." Davis served in the Peninsula Campaign under McClellan, the second Battle of Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville.
