Wooden trunk with a domed lid; exterior covered in canvas, painted black and reinforced with wooden bands and metal cornersand tacks; metal latches, hinges and escutcheon; brass bail handles on the sides; "F.A.R." painted on the front of the trunk; interior covered in brown canvas; paper maker's label on the inside of the lid.
